Femtosecond Laser Thermal Accumulation-Triggered Micro-/Nanostructures with Patternable and Controllable Wettability Towards Liquid Manipulating

Kai Yin et al.

Summary: A method for fabricating liquid manipulating surfaces with patternable and controllable wettability on Polyimide film using femtosecond laser thermal accumulation engineering is proposed. The wettability of the film can be controlled from superhydrophilicity to superhydrophobicity through adjusting the local thermal accumulation. Three different surfaces with patternable and heterogeneous wettability were constructed and various applications were achieved.

Exploring SERS from complex patterns fabricated by multi-exposure laser interference lithography

Seong Jae Kim et al.

Summary: Designing uniform plasmonic surfaces in a large area is crucial for surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), and laser interference lithography (LIL) is a versatile tool for rapidly fabricating periodic patterns. The multi-exposure laser interference lithography (MELIL) method can produce nearly periodic profiles in all directions, leading to highly uniform Raman scattering in complex geometries. Additionally, the vacuum-free electroplating method enhances the performance of the process, providing a cost-effective alternative for SERS applications.

Solar-driven thermal-wind synergistic effect on laser-textured superhydrophilic copper foam architectures for ultrahigh efficient vapor generation

Kai Yin et al.

Summary: Solar-driven vapor generation is enhanced by combining thermal and wind effects on a superhydrophilic copper foam surface, increasing the rate of water evaporation. The treated surface absorbs significant solar power which can be converted into heat for steam generation, while a pre-wetted sponge minimizes heat loss and helps maintain high evaporation rates.
