Optimization on preparation conditions to improve the nonlinear optical response of ZnO/TiO2/ZrO2 ternary nanocomposites under continuous-wave laser irradiation

Fahimeh Abrinaei et al.

Summary: ZnO/TiO2/ZrO2 ternary nanocomposites with high third-order nonlinear optical response were successfully synthesized using the sol-gel method under ultrasonic treatment. The optimum condition for preparation to achieve the highest nonlinear optical parameters was determined by optimizing the variable parameters.

On the Absorption and Photoluminescence Properties of Pure ZnSe and Co-Doped ZnSe:Eu3+/Yb3+ Crystals

Behnaz Abbasgholi-NA et al.

Summary: Co-doped ZnSe crystals with Eu3+/Yb3+ ions were grown using the chemical vapour transport method. The rare earth ions were found to enhance the emission of new lines, resulting in a broad emission range. The material has a lower bandgap and improved emission efficiency, making it suitable for developing optoelectronic devices with wide tunability.

Power of Infrared and Raman Spectroscopies to Characterize Metal-Organic Frameworks and Investigate Their Interaction with Guest Molecules

Konstantin Hadjiivanov et al.

Summary: Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with various functionalities and porous structures are suitable for a wide range of applications. Vibrational spectroscopy (IR and Raman) plays a crucial role in characterizing MOF materials and studying their interaction with gases, highlighting both advantages and limitations of the technique. By combining IR and Raman spectroscopies with other techniques, the structure, properties, and reactivity of MOFs can be explicitly established.

Third-order nonlinear optical properties of the small-molecular organic semiconductor tris (8-Hydroxyquinoline) aluminum by CW Z-scan technique

Abdu Saeed et al.

Summary: The third-order nonlinear optical properties of Alq(3) chloroform solutions were examined in this study using the Z-scan technique. The results showed strong third-order nonlinear optical properties, suggesting that Alq(3) could be a potential material as a saturable absorber for passive mode-locking operation.
