Effect of 150 keV Ti+ ion implantation on the structural, optical, and electrical properties of nonstoichiometric WO2.72 thin films

Kriti et al.

Summary: The study deposited WO2.72 thin films on fluorine-doped tin oxide substrates using the e-beam evaporation technique, followed by implantation of Ti+ ions at various fluences. Structural changes, X-ray peak intensity variations, grain size adjustments, surface roughness alterations, redshift in bandgaps, decrease in photoluminescence intensity, and semiconductor to metal transition in electrical properties were observed in the Ti-implanted films. These changes were attributed to the effects of bandgap narrowing, nonradiative and Auger recombination, and various scattering mechanisms.
