Phenology and ecology of the alien seagrass Halophila stipulacea in its northern range limit in the Mediterranean Sea

Di Genio Selene et al.

Summary: The alien seagrass Halophila stipulacea invaded the Mediterranean Sea from the Red Sea over 120 years ago, reaching as far north as Palinuro harbour in Italy. The species' occurrence in this area is correlated with increases in local sea-surface temperatures, showing high adaptability to different wave exposure conditions.

Facilitation and the invasibility of plant communities

Lohengrin A. Cavieres

Summary: Plant community diversity plays a crucial role in resistance to non-native invasions. However, when diverse communities facilitate non-native species, the resistance to invasion may be compromised. Facilitative interactions among native and non-native species can alter the relationship between diversity and invasibility.
