Double Feature Extraction Method of Ship-Radiated Noise Signal Based on Slope Entropy and Permutation Entropy

Yuxing Li et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a feature extraction method based on slope entropy and a double feature extraction method combined with slope entropy and permutation entropy for ship type recognition. The experimental results show that the double feature extraction method achieves higher recognition rates.

A novel feature extraction method for ship-radiated noise

Hong Yang et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a novel feature extraction method for ship-radiated noise based on complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition with adaptive selective noise (CEEMDASN) and refined composite multiscale fluctuation-based dispersion entropy (RCMFDE). The method effectively decomposes the signal and refines the preprocessing process to extract feature vectors for classification and identification.

Identification of topological measures of visibility graphs for analyzing transitions in complex time series

Mukesh Tiwari et al.

Summary: In this paper, the authors investigate variations in the behavior of correlated time series by analyzing changes in the topological properties of the corresponding visibility graph. Six different network measures are explored, and visibility graphs are constructed from the original and increment series. Through extensive numerical studies, network measures that reflect changes in correlations in the time series are identified. The efficacy of these markers is examined to detect transitions in two systems, showing limited success in the case of time-dependent fluctuations in the EEG data and identifying relevant markers for detecting seizures.

Visibility network analysis of large-scale intermittency in convective surface layer turbulence

Subharthi Chowdhuri et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that large-scale intermittency in convective surface layer turbulence is related to strong nonlinear dependencies in temperature signals, while similar phenomena are not observed in velocity signals. A competition between linear and nonlinear effects tends to inhibit temperature-like intermittency behavior in streamwise and vertical velocities. This suggests new research avenues may be opened up in studying large-scale intermittency in convective turbulence.
