A Straightforward Method for Adipocyte Size and Count Analysis Using Open-source Software QuPath

Ville A. Palomaki et al.

Summary: Changes in adipose tissue morphology are associated with overweight and obesity, low-grade inflammation, and common comorbidities. Quantifying fat cell morphology using QuPath software showed similar results to those obtained with ImageJ software, with good to excellent intraclass correlation between the two methods. This method can be applied to large tissue areas, including whole-slide analysis.
