Electron spectrometry with Silicon drift detectors: a GEANT4 based method for detector response reconstruction

Summary: Precision electron spectrometry in the keV range is challenging due to various effects that modify the electron's kinetic energy along its path. This paper discusses the unknown effect of the detector entrance window and proposes a MonteCarlo-based approach to reduce its negative impact. Silicon Drift Detectors show promise for electron spectrometry and are utilized in this study for characterization and validation measurements.
