Nonlinear vibrations of beams with bilinear hysteresis at supports: interpretation of experimental results

Prabakaran Balasubramanian et al.

Summary: The experimental vibration responses of beams with nonlinear boundary conditions were interpreted using a bilinear spring model. It was found that the boundary conditions transitioned from rotational linear stiffness at low vibration amplitudes to bilinear stiffness with hysteresis at higher amplitudes. The model accurately reproduced the experimental results without the need for parameter adjustment at different excitation levels.

AlN Single Crystal Accelerometer for Nuclear Power Plants

Howuk Kim et al.

Summary: This article introduces the development of a shear-type accelerometer using AlN single crystal plates, which shows stable performance under varying temperatures from room temperature to 1000 degrees C. The sensitivity of the accelerometer was sustained for 10 hours under exposure to 1000 degrees C, indicating its potential as a promising option for monitoring the structural integrity of nuclear power plant structures.
