Thermal currents obtained and mutually switched by a modified Haldane model in graphene

Xiao-Long Lu et al.

Summary: By modulating the parameters of a modified Haldane model, different types of current, such as 100% spin-valley polarized current, pure spin-valley current, and pure charge current, can be obtained in a graphene system. The thermal currents can be effectively strengthened by increasing the temperature difference, and these currents can be rapidly turned off by enhancing the intensity of off-resonant circularly polarized light. These results suggest promising applications of the modified Haldane model in spin and valley caloritronics.

Topological edge states and transport properties in zigzag stanene nanoribbons with magnetism

Xiao-Long Lu et al.

Summary: This study investigates the topological phase transitions and transport properties in zigzag stanene nanoribbon with different magnetism. The findings show that off-resonant circularly polarized (ORCP) light can induce anisotropic chiral edge states, leading to magnetic phase transitions and subsequently affecting topological phase transitions. By modulating ORCP and electric field, spin-polarized edge states with magnetic orders can be induced, offering potential applications in designing topological devices.

Robust all-electrical topological valley filtering using monolayer 2D-Xenes

Koustav Jana et al.

Summary: We proposed a realizable device design for an all-electrical robust valley filter utilizing spin protected topological interface states hosted on monolayer 2D-Xene materials. The interface states appearing at the domain wall between topologically distinct phases can serve as valley-polarized channels. The large band-gap quantum spin-Hall effect enables the spatial separation of the spin-valley locked helical interface states with the valley states being protected by spin conservation, resulting in robustness against short-range nonmagnetic disorder.

Interchannel coupling induced gapless modes in multichannel zero-line systems

Yulei Han et al.

Summary: In this work, the authors theoretically investigate the electronic transport properties of multichannel zero-line systems in bilayer graphene. They find that the coupling between neighboring zero lines can result in different electronic properties, depending on the number of channels. These findings have potential applications in designing multifunctional valley-based electronics.

Quantum Spin-Valley Hall Kink States: From Concept to Materials Design

Tong Zhou et al.

Summary: A general and tunable platform has been proposed to achieve high-density arrays of quantum spin-valley Hall kink (QSVHK) states based on a two-dimensional hexagonal topological insulator. The QSVHK states are found to be topologically protected by valley-inversion and time-reversal symmetries, with quantized conductance against disorder. These states can be realized in bismuthene through alloy engineering, surface functionalization, or electric field, supporting nonvolatile applications at room temperature.

Multichannel Depletion-Type Field-Effect Transistor Based on Ferromagnetic Germanene

Jun Zheng et al.

Summary: The study proposes a multichannel depletion-type field-effect transistor based on ferromagnetic Germanene, which can be switched on and off by adjusting the electric field. The results show that the ferromagnetic Germanene FET has higher on-state current, lower subthreshold swing, and can achieve spin-polarized edge states and valleys. The switching mechanism of the ferromagnetic Germanene FET varies under different electric field conditions.
