Nonconvex regularizer and latent pattern based robust regression for face recognition

Semi-Coupled Synthesis and Analysis Dictionary Pair Learning for Kinship Verification

Summary: In this paper, a semi-coupled synthesis and analysis dictionary pair learning (SSADL) approach is proposed to address the issue of weak feature representation in kinship verification. The method effectively reduces the differences between facial images of family members and transforms heterogeneous facial images into coding coefficients of the same subspace with a mapping matrix, enabling kinship verification based on the coding coefficients. Additionally, a discriminant term based on hard samples is designed to ensure the discriminability of the obtained coefficients, showing the effectiveness of the proposed approach in experimental results on several publicly used benchmarks.
