The metabolic signaling of the nucleoredoxin-like 2 gene supports brain function

Celine Jaillard et al.

Summary: The nucleoredoxin gene NXNL2 plays a crucial role in regulating neuronal function and tau pathology, as evidenced by behavioral deficits and memory impairment in Nxnl2 knockout mice. Administration of adeno-associated viral vectors encoding RdCVF2 and RdCVF2L to newborn mice can partially correct these deficits, suggesting the potential therapeutic value of NXNL2 metabolic and redox signaling in neurodegenerative diseases.
