Performance degradation and mitigation strategies of silver nanowire networks: a review

Peiyuan Guan et al.

Summary: Although AgNW networks have excellent optical transparency and mechanical flexibility, they can degrade in performance due to interactions with surrounding media such as temperature, electric field, and UV light. Extensive research has been conducted to mitigate these degradation issues and develop stable AgNW based transparent electrodes for flexible electronic devices.

Highly transparent, low sheet resistance and stable Tannic acid modified-SWCNT/AgNW double-layer conductive network for organic light emitting diodes

Ze-Ru Zhu et al.

Summary: This paper presents a new type of transparent conductive film (TCF) with a double-layered conductive network structure, using tannic acid functionalized carbon nanotubes (TCNTs) and silver nanowires (AgNWs). The hybrid film exhibits excellent light transmittance, high electrical conductivity, ultra-flexibility, and strong adhesion, with improved performance through post-treatment processes. The hybrid film shows stability in conductivity and transmittance after bending, tape testing, exposure to high temperature and humidity, indicating great potential for application in photovoltaic devices.

Flash-welded ultraflat silver nanowire network for flexible organic light-emitting diode and triboelectric tactile sensor

Hee Seung Wang et al.

Summary: Transparent flexible electrodes made of metallic nanowires have been hindered by multi-stacked morphology with large protrusions and high surface roughness, leading to leakage current and device malfunction. A solution involving plasmonic welding of flexible metal nanowires using flash lamps has been proposed to improve electrical and morphological properties. The flash-welded ultraflat electrode networks embedded with nanowires demonstrated reduced protrusion and surface roughness, showcasing excellent electrical properties and mechanical stability for practical applications.

Cellulose-based flexible organic light-emitting diodes with enhanced stability and external quantum efficiency

Qinghong Zheng et al.

Summary: In this study, a cellulose-based flexible organic light-emitting diode (OLED) with enhanced stability and light extraction efficiency was prepared by using a PEDOT:PSS PH1000 transparent conductive electrode coated on regenerated cellulose film (RCF). The improved bending stability and external quantum efficiency of the PH1000/RCF OLED compared to the traditional ITO/RCF OLED make it attractive for various applications such as flexible displays and wearable devices.
