Molecular Plasmonics with Metamaterials

Pan Wang et al.

Summary: Molecular plasmonics with metamaterials has gained great interest in both fundamental research and technological applications. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the advances in molecular plasmonics with metamaterials, including the optical properties, fabrication approaches, and light-molecule interactions. Various applications, such as emission control, optical sensing, and nanochemistry, are discussed by exploiting the interactions between molecules and metamaterials. The role of hot carriers in nanochemistry is also highlighted. Perspectives on the future development of molecular plasmonics with metamaterials are provided, showing the potential of actively controlling both metamaterials and molecular processes.

Ultrafast Carrier and Lattice Dynamics in Plasmonic Nanocrystalline Copper Sulfide Films

Anton Yu. Bykov et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that mesoscopic plasmonic covellite nanocrystals exhibit faster carrier relaxation and lower thermalization time compared to traditional plasmonic materials. These findings suggest advantages of this new material for active control of optical processes.

Cu-Sb-S Ternary Semiconductor Nanoparticle Plasmonics

Guoning Liu et al.

Summary: This research presents a colloidal synthesis strategy for highly dispersed, platelet-shaped, antimony-doped copper sulfide semiconductor nanocrystals with a tunable dominant localized surface plasmon resonance band. The study quantifies the resulting plasmonic features and elucidates the carrier concentration requirements for a continuum of LSPR spectra. Building on previous work on binary plasmonics, this method introduces a much wider and finer tunability with ternary semiconductor plasmonics.

Plasmonic Cu2-xS nanoparticles: a brief introduction of optical properties and applications

Lihui Chen et al.

Summary: This review discusses the properties of Cu2-xS NPs doped with copper vacancies, which can support localized surface plasmon resonance in near-infrared and mid-infrared spectral wavelengths. The review covers the fundamentals of optical responses, flexible LSPR manipulation, LSPR correlated photoluminescence, and recently exploited applications based on the LSPR of Cu2-xS NPs. It also highlights remaining open issues and suggests possible further research directions.
