Anchoring Group-Mediated Radiolabeling of Inorganic Nanoparticles-A Universal Method for Constructing Nuclear Medicine Imaging Nanoprobes

Jianxian Ge et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the universality of a simple and efficient radiolabeling method, LAGMERAL, for constructing radioactive nanoprobes. The method utilizes a diphosphonate-polyethylene glycol (DP-PEG) group on the surface of inorganic nanoparticles for efficient radiolabeling. The resulting nanoprobes exhibit high radiolabeling stability and biocompatibility, making them promising for sensitive tumor diagnosis. This research highlights the importance and potential of LAGMERAL in nuclear medicine imaging.

Effects of PEG Chain Length on Relaxometric Properties of Iron Oxide Nanoparticles-Based MRI Contrast Agent

Jianxian Ge et al.

Summary: Polyethylene glycol (PEG) is commonly used to enhance the biocompatibility and blood circulation time of iron oxide nanoparticles (IONPs) as MRI contrast agents. However, the surface effect induced by PEGylation can impact the relaxometric properties of IONPs and subsequently affect imaging results. In this study, three diphosphonate PEGs with different molecular weights were used to replace the hydrophobic oleate ligands of IONPs, and the relationship between PEG chain length and relaxometric properties of IONPs was investigated.

Anchoring Group Mediated Radiolabeling for Achieving Robust Nanoimaging Probes

Lei Chen et al.

Summary: Radiolabeling plays a significant role in functionalizing inorganic nanoparticles, providing high-sensitive imaging capacities and accurate pharmacokinetic information. A novel LAGMERAL method utilizing a PEG ligand with DP terminal group allows for radiolabeling NPs through spare coordination sites. X-ray absorption spectroscopy studies investigated the coordination states of foreign metal ions on the particle surface. The stability of radioactively labeled Fe3O4 NPs prepared by colabeling with I-125 and Tc-99m was compared both in vitro and in vivo, highlighting the advantages of the LAGMERAL method for creating advanced NPs with various functionalities.

Electrostatic Control of Au Nanorod Formation in Automated Microsegmented Flow Synthesis

Andrea Knauer et al.

Summary: The study found that the aspect ratio of gold nanorods depends on the concentration of reducing agent and additional silver ions; there is a regular redshift of the spectral position of the electromagnetic in-axis resonance of metal nanorods with decreasing concentration of reducing agent and increasing concentration of silver ions; experimental results confirmed the crucial role of electrostatic control in the formation of nonspherical and composed nanoparticles.
