Characteristics and Follow-Up of Organizing Pneumonia Associated with Haematological Malignancies

Summary: This study discusses the characteristics and prognosis of organizing pneumonia (OP) associated with haematological malignancies. The results show that haematological malignancies may be a cause of OP and that minimal invasive biopsy is an effective and safe method for diagnosis. Steroid treatment produces favorable outcomes.

Summary: The study conducted at a tertiary-care hospital in South Korea showed that approximately one-third of patients with culture-negative endocarditis and vascular infection were diagnosed as Q fever. Therefore, it is important to try to find evidence of C. burnetii infection in suspected patients by all available diagnostic tests including PCR.
