Sorting methods and adaptive thresholding for histogram based reversible data hiding

Ammar Mohammadi et al.

Summary: This paper presents a histogram based reversible data hiding scheme, which efficiently determines smooth areas of an image for data embedding to achieve less distortion in the marked image. Introducing hiding intensity analysis also helps to improve the quality of the marked image. The proposed scheme increases the hiding capacity while maintaining a specific level of distortion compared to existing RDH algorithms.

Reversible data hiding based on multiple histograms modification and deep neural networks

Jiacheng Hou et al.

Summary: A method using deep neural networks for dynamic multiple histogram generation was proposed to overcome the limitation of fixed histogram generation in previous reversible data hiding methods. By optimizing parameters and minimizing distortion, the proposed method showed superior performance in experiments compared to some state-of-the-art RDH methods.

PSNR vs SSIM: imperceptibility quality assessment for image steganography

De Rosal Igantius Moses Setiadi

Summary: PSNR and SSIM are widely used measuring tools in image quality assessment, with PSNR used earlier and SSIM designed based on human visual system factors. Research findings show that LSB performs best based on PSNR, while PVD performs best based on SSIM. The study concludes that SSIM is a better measure of imperceptibility in all aspects and should be preferred in future steganographic research.
