Correlations Between Jump Performance in Block and Attack and the Performance in Official Games, Squat Jumps, and Countermovement Jumps of Professional Volleyball Players

Guilherme P. Berriel et al.

Summary: This study examined the correlations between jump height in block and attack jumps among professional volleyball players and their performance in official games, as well as the relationship between these jumps and the height achieved in squat jumps, countermovement jumps, and countermovement jumps with an arm swing. The results showed that success in attack actions is directly associated with the athlete's ability to perform a vertical jump, and tests such as squat jumps, countermovement jumps, and countermovement jumps with an arm swing were found to provide useful information for volleyball players' needs. The study suggests that these tests should be included in the routine assessment of professional volleyball players due to their relevance.
