The polarisation of the drifting sub-pulses from PSR B1919+21

N. Primak et al.

Summary: This study aims to expand our understanding of radio wave emission and propagation in the pulsar magnetosphere by analyzing the polarization of drifting sub-pulses in observations of PSR B1919+21. The results show that there are regions where the superposition of orthogonally polarized modes is incoherent and regions where it appears to be partially coherent. The polarization vectors form a torus and rotate synchronously with the drifting sub-pulse modulation.

Discovery of PSR J0523-7125 as a Circularly Polarized Variable Radio Source in the Large Magellanic Cloud

Yuanming Wang et al.

Summary: We report the discovery of a highly circularly polarized, variable, steep-spectrum pulsar in the Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder (ASKAP) survey. The pulsar is located near the Large Magellanic Cloud and has a significant fractional circular polarization. Observations reveal that it has extreme parameters and is among the most luminous radio pulsars known. This discovery highlights the importance of searching for unusual radio sources and extragalactic pulsars in large-scale radio surveys.

Detection of quasi-periodic micro-structure in three millisecond pulsars with the Large European Array for Pulsars

K. Liu et al.

Summary: This study reports the detection of quasi-periodic micro-structure in three millisecond pulsars using high time resolution data. The occurrence rate of micro-structure is consistent among pulses with different peak flux densities, and it often exhibits high linear polarization. The results provide valuable insights into the dependency of micro-structure properties and its potential link to fast radio bursts.

Measurements of pulse jitter and single-pulse variability in millisecond pulsars using MeerKAT

A. Parthasarathy et al.

Summary: This study investigated the jitter phenomenon of millisecond pulsars using the MeerKAT radio telescope, revealing significant variations in jitter levels among different pulsars and highlighting the impact of jitter on measuring dispersion measure (DM). The research suggests that all millisecond pulsars have their own limit on DM precision, which can only be overcome with longer integrations.

Spin-down and emission variations for PSR J0742-2822

Shi-Jun Dang et al.

Summary: PSR J0742-2822 is known for its quasi-periodic changes in the observed pulse profile and spindown rate. In this study, the authors analyzed 13 years of timing data and found that the average values of the spin-down rate of this pulsar changed in four different states. The correlation between the spin-down rate and W-50 was investigated, and it was observed that the correlation changed in different spin-down rate states. The long term evolution of gamma-ray flux and the pulse profiles corresponding to the four different states were examined using Fermi-LAT Pass 8 (P8R3) data, showing no significant changes. The results suggest that the connection between pulsar rotation and emission is more complex than previously reported.
