Colorimetric detection of heavy metal ions with various chromogenic materials: Strategies and applications

Functionalized Silver Nanoparticles as Selective Colorimetric Sensors for Fe3+

Summary: In this study, a simple synthesis method of silver nanoparticles was developed for use as a colorimetric sensor to detect the concentration of Fe3+. The synthesized silver nanoparticles exhibited high stability and selectivity towards Fe3+ and the detection could be done by observing the color change of the solution. The method showed high sensitivity and precision, and it was successfully applied for the quantification of Fe3+ in wastewater samples.
