Enantioselective Fluorescent Recognition of β-Amino Alcohols by Stereoselective Cyclization

Jun Tian et al.

Summary: 2,2'-Diformyl-1,1'-binaphthyl exhibits highly enantioselective fluorescence enhancement in the presence of various beta-amino alcohols and base. This provides a new method for determining the enantiomeric composition of substrates and has potential for high throughput analysis.

Amino Acid-Functionalized Metal-Organic Frameworks for Asymmetric Base-Metal Catalysis

Rajashree Newar et al.

Summary: This study presents a strategy to develop eco-friendly asymmetric catalysts using naturally occurring amino acids and earth-abundant metals, resulting in highly active and enantioselective catalysts for hydrosilylation and hydroboration of carbonyl compounds by grafting amino acids within the pores of a metal-organic framework (MOF) and post-synthetic metalation with iron precursor. The MOF-Fe catalyst exhibited high turnover numbers and good recyclability, demonstrating higher activity and enantioselectivity compared to its homogeneous control catalyst due to the formation of robust single-site catalyst in the MOF through site-isolation.

From MonoBINOL to BisBINOL: Expanded Enantioselective Fluorescent Recognition of Amino Acids

Bingyi Huo et al.

Summary: A new bisBINOL-based fluorescent probe was synthesized, showing good enantioselective fluorescence responses towards 17 common amino acids. The recognition process was further investigated through the synthesis of diastereomeric imines and their reactions with Zn(OAc)(2).
