Functionalization of polyfluorene-wrapped carbon nanotubes using thermally cleavable side-chains

Dialia Ritaine et al.

Summary: The length and nature of side-chains in conjugated polymer-wrapped carbon nanotubes can affect their conductivity. By functionalizing the nanotubes with cleavable side-chains, the conductivity can be increased. Additionally, using green solvents can result in stable dispersions.

Degradable Fluorene- and Carbazole-Based Copolymers for Selective Extraction of Semiconducting Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes

Liang Xu et al.

Summary: This study utilized conjugated polymer sorting to purify as-produced single-walled carbon nanotubes, obtaining high-purity semiconducting SWCNTs. Several degradable copolymers were synthesized for selective extraction of s-SWCNTs, with successful removal of the polymer after acid treatment to obtain dispersant-free s-SWCNTs. This research paves the way for the development of the next generation of CNT devices using dispersant-free semiconducting carbon nanotubes.
