Highly Efficient Self-Healing Multifunctional Dressing with Antibacterial Activity for Sutureless Wound Closure and Infected Wound Monitoring

Ning Tang et al.

Summary: The study introduces a novel self-healing, antibacterial, and multifunctional wound dressing for sutureless wound closure and real-time monitoring. The dressing features high mechanical toughness, biocompatibility, and outstanding antibacterial activity, effectively inhibiting bacterial growth and accelerating healing. In vivo tests demonstrate that the dressing can help in wound closure and deposition of collagen, while the integrated sensor array provides real-time monitoring of temperature, pH, and glucose levels in the wound area. Ultimately, this multifunctional dressing would be valuable for personalized monitoring and treatment approaches in wound healing management.

In Situ Electrospinning of Aggregation-Induced Emission Nanofibrous Dressing for Wound Healing

Ruihua Dong et al.

Summary: A novel in situ deposited and personalized nanofibrous dressing is developed for rapid wound dressing and effective antibacterial therapy. The dressing can be directly electrospun on skin wounds and fits various sizes of wounds perfectly. Loaded with an aggregation-induced emission luminogen, the nanofibrous dressings exhibit long-term antibacterial activity and show excellent antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. In vivo studies demonstrate that these antibacterial nanofibrous dressings effectively reduce inflammation and accelerate wound healing. This in situ produced antibacterial dressing shows promise as a total solution for treating emergencies.

Curcumin/Fe-SiO2 nano composites with multi-synergistic effects for scar inhibition and hair follicle regeneration during burn wound healing

Zhaowenbin Zhang et al.

Summary: This study developed a new type of nano composites, Cur-Fe-mesoporous silica nanoparticles (Cur-Fe-SiO2, MFSC), which can release bioactive components such as SiO32-, Fe3+, and Fe-Cur chelates synergistically to inhibit scar hyperplasia and promote hair follicle regeneration. The combination of ions and flavonoids in the design of nanocomposites showed enhanced biological activity, highlighting a potential effective approach for tissue regeneration.
