Low-Threshold, Highly Stable Colloidal Quantum Dot Short-Wave Infrared Laser enabled by Suppression of Trap-Assisted Auger Recombination

Nima Taghipour et al.

Summary: A binary blend of CQDs and ZnO nanocrystals is used to passivate trap states in PbS-CQD gain medium, leading to improved Auger lifetime and suppression of trap-assisted Auger recombination. Integration of this binary blend with a DFB resonator has demonstrated stable single-mode lasing emission with low threshold and continuous operation of 5 hours under room temperature and ambient conditions.

Heterostructural tailoring of blue ZnSeTe quantum dots toward high-color purity and high-efficiency electroluminescence

Sun-Hyoung Lee et al.

Summary: Ternary ZnSeTe quantum dots with ZnSe inner and ZnS outer shell have been synthesized to achieve high-quality blue emission. Modulating the thickness of the ZnSe inner shell in the ZnSeTe/ZnSe/ZnS heterostructure affects the Photoluminescence (PL) characteristics. The QLEDs produced using these QDs exhibit high electroluminescence performance with excellent PL Quantum Yield (QY) and deep blue emissivity.

Low-Threshold Blue Quasi-2D Perovskite Laser through Domain Distribution Control

Chenhui Wang et al.

Summary: Quasi-2D perovskites composed of self-organized quantum well structures have shown promise as gain materials for laser applications. This study investigates the impact of domain distribution on the laser emission of CsPbCl1.5Br1.5-based quasi-2D perovskites. Through the use of 2,2-diphenylethylammonium bromide as a ligand, a quasi-2D film with a narrow domain distribution dominated by large-n domains is formed. This reduces the content of small-n domains and improves energy transfer. By controlling the domain distribution, blue amplified spontaneous emission and single-mode vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasing with low thresholds are achieved.
