Risk of hypoglycemia by anthropometric measurements in neonates of mothers with diabetes

Hanane Bouchghoul et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between anthropometric measurements and hypoglycemia in neonates of mothers treated for gestational diabetes. The results showed a U-shaped curve relationship between birthweight or weight-length ratio (WLR) Z-scores and the risk of neonatal hypoglycemia. Regardless of the maternal treatment, extreme birthweight Z-scores were associated with an increased risk of hypoglycemia in neonates.
