M. Dhavamurthy et al.

Summary: Ce3+/Dy3+ and Ce3+/Sm3+ co-doped alumino-borophosphate glasses were studied for their optical properties, luminescence behavior, and composition using FT-IR, FT-Raman, UV-Vis, and SEM/EDS techniques. The luminescence spectra showed emission peaks corresponding to Dy3+ and Sm3+ ions in the glasses, with CSABP glass emitting white light. The SHG efficiency of the glasses was determined and compared to reference samples without the need for a thermal polling mechanism.

Xiulan Wu et al.

Summary: A series of LiLaSiO4:xDy(3+), yEu(3+) phosphors were synthesized by high-temperature solid-phase method, and their properties were analyzed using various techniques. It was found that the luminescence intensity of Dy3+ and Eu3+ in the phosphors was affected by the doping concentration, with energy transfer observed between Dy3+ and Eu3+. By adjusting the doping concentration percentage of Eu3+ and Dy3+, the phosphors can achieve lighting with warm white light-emitting diodes.

Ruiwang Liu et al.

Summary: Dy3+/Eu3+ co-doped GSBG glass was prepared using traditional high temperature melting method. The decrease in band gap width and fluorescence decay time with increasing Eu3+ concentration indicates energy transfer between Dy3+ and Eu3+. The glass emits bright white light under UV excitation, with specific samples producing neutral or warm white light at a correlated color temperature of 4763 K.

Radiation effects on structure and mechanical properties of borosilicate glasses

L. T. Chen et al.

Summary: The study investigated the effects of irradiation on sodium borosilicate glasses and International Simple Glass (ISG), revealing the saturation of hardness, modulus, and volume changes at a certain irradiation dose, and a significant increase in crack initiation resistance (CR). The structural changes in borosilicate glasses were also examined, showing a transformation of BO4 to BO3 groups upon irradiation with heavy ions. These findings suggest the importance of boron structures in controlling the macroscopic radiation effects on glasses.

Summary: This study investigated the time-resolved luminescence and excitation-emission matrix measurements of three boro-silicate host glasses doped with Eu3+, as well as the influence of zinc and tellurium oxide addition on the photoluminescence and time-resolved emission spectra of the glasses. The findings revealed that different additives affect the emission peak wavelength and lifetime of Eu3+ in the glasses, possibly due to different environments or interactions experienced by the ions.
