Characterisation of complex polymer modified bitumen with rheological parameters

Laurent Porot et al.

Summary: The use of modifiers for bituminous binders to enhance asphalt material performance has become common practice. The binder complexity resulting from this practice may not always be suitable for conventional testing methods. Efforts are being made to explore new ways to characterize complex binders, such as Polymer modified Bitumen. An inter-laboratory program was conducted to evaluate different test methods for these binders, with a focus on exploring rheological parameters obtained from Dynamic Shear Rheometer measurements.
