68Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT compared to standard imaging in metastatic neuroendocrine tumors: a more sensitive test to detect liver metastasis?

Terence Jackson et al.

Summary: The study compared the performance of 68Ga-DOTATATE PET and standard cross-sectional imaging in detecting liver metastases in patients with NET. The results showed that 68Ga-DOTATATE PET has a higher sensitivity in identifying lesions, but there are also cases where lesions may not be detected.

Summary: The current guidelines recommend complete surgical resection of GEPNETs, but there is variability in the recurrence risk across subtypes. Further research is needed to refine surveillance recommendations after R0 resection.
