Boosting the Capacity of Aqueous Li-Ion Capacitors via Pinpoint Surgery in Nanocoral-Like Covalent Organic Frameworks

Qianhao Geng et al.

Summary: This study investigates the electrochemical performance and mechanism of using a covalent organic framework (COF) as a lithium storage material in aqueous electrolyte for the first time. The results show that by modifying the COF structure, higher storage capacity and cycling stability can be achieved. Additionally, a novel aqueous lithium-ion capacitor assembled with the COF as the anode demonstrates high specific capacitance and power density.

Formation mechanism of amorphous silicon nanoparticles with additional counter-flow quenching gas by induction thermal plasma

Xiaoyu Zhang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the fabrication process of amorphous silicon nanoparticles by induction thermal plasma through experiments and numerical simulations. It was found that introducing additional quenching gas as counter-flow to the plasma tail flame enhanced the quenching effect, with the quenching rate increasing with the flow rate of the quenching gas. The results also showed that the amount of amorphous silicon increased with the injection of quenching gas, attributing to the improved preparation of small nanoparticles.

Synthesis and characterization of ternary chitosan-TiO2-ZnO over graphene for photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline from pharmaceutical wastewater

Hossein Asadzadeh Patehkhor et al.

Summary: A novel TiO2-ZnO/CS-Gr nanocomposite was synthesized and found to exhibit excellent photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline under optimized conditions. Graphene played a significant role in improving degradation results. The performance of this nanocomposite was compared with ternary nanocomposites based on EDX, BET results, and degradation efficiency.

Graphene oxide-chitosan hydrogel for adsorptive removal of diclofenac from aqueous solution: preparation, characterization, kinetic and thermodynamic modelling

Hossein Mahmoodi et al.

Summary: This study developed a natural compound-based hydrogel adsorbent to remove diclofenac from water, achieving high removal efficiency. The optimal adsorption parameters, GO to CTS ratio, effect of amine-functionalization, and thermodynamic properties of the adsorption process were successfully investigated. Additionally, the regeneration ability of the hydrogel adsorbents was studied, showing that they maintained high efficiency for three cycles.
