Novel Nanoporous Ti-Phosphonate Metal-Organic Framework for Selective Sensing of 2,4,6-Trinitrophenol and a Promising Electrode in an Energy Storage Device

Debabrata Chakraborty et al.

Summary: A novel tetradentate phosphonate ligand-based porous metal-organic framework material was reported for selective recognition of explosives in aqueous phase, with potential energy storage applications. The mechanism of host-guest interaction was determined to be RET-PET-ICT, leading to specific quenching of the explosive TNP. This MOF also demonstrated high cycling stability and energy storage capacity, as reflected by glowing of a LED after charging.

Tuning the photoluminescence of lanthanide metal-organic framework nanospheres through ligand-induced phase transition towards sensing

Peng Zhang et al.

Summary: The LI-Ln-MOF nanosphere exhibits tunable photoluminescence, with emission color changing from magenta to yellow by adding or removing water ligands. Water molecules act as newly attached secondary ligands to rebuild the MOF structure and achieve tuning of energy transfer processes, suggesting promising applications in MOF sensors and anti-counterfeiting. This study offers insights into energy transfer in Ln-MOF matrices and opens up new possibilities for the development of multifunctional fluorescent sensing platforms.
