Validation of a Model for Estimating Individual External Dose Based on Ambient Dose Equivalent and Life Patterns

Rina Sato et al.

Summary: This study validates the accuracy of a model developed to estimate effective doses for residents returning to their homes after the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station accident. The estimated effective doses correlated significantly with personal dose equivalent (Hp(10)), demonstrating the model's applicability. However, the lower effective dose indoors may be due to the conversion factor not reflecting the actual environment.
