Fear of cancer recurrence in patients with non-metastatic melanoma: Spanish validation and disease-related factors

Alvaro Iglesias-Puzas et al.

Summary: This study validated a questionnaire for fear of cancer recurrence (FCR) in Spanish and described the clinical and demographic variables associated with FCR in patients with non-metastatic melanoma. The results showed that women and young patients had higher FCR scores, and patients with a personal history of cancer, facial melanoma, or skin graft reconstruction also scored high on FCR. The validated questionnaire is suitable for evaluating FCR and helps clinicians identify at-risk patients and implement preventive measures.
