Positive Synergistic Effects on Vulcanization, Mechanical and Electrical Properties of Using Deep Eutectic Solvent in Natural Rubber Vulcanizates

Boripat Sripornsawat et al.

Summary: The deep eutectic solvent based on choline chloride and urea was synthesized and added to natural rubber and epoxidized NR, significantly impacting cure characteristics, improving mechanical properties, and enhancing conductivity of the vulcanizates. The new physical and chemical crosslinks formed between NR and ENR molecules with DES and mDES resulted in superior elasticity and properties of the vulcanizates at low and high temperatures. DES and mDES successfully incorporated into rubber matrix with good compatibility, providing superior properties to NR and ENR for various applications.

Exploring the thermomechanical properties of peroxide/co-agent assisted thermoplastic vulcanizates through temperature scanning stress relaxation measurements

Asit Baran Bhattacharya et al.

Summary: Temperature scanning stress relaxation (TSSR) measurements were conducted on peroxide vulcanized polymer blends of polypropylene (PP) and ultrahigh molecular-EPDM (UHM-EPDM) rubber, revealing that TPVs with ZMA co-agent exhibited higher T-50 and T-90 values, higher TSSR-index, and greater mechanical strength. The study also confirmed the consistency between cross-link density calculations and stress relaxation results.

Cross-Linked Density Determination of Natural Rubber Compounds by Different Analytical Techniques

Carlos Toshiyuki Hiranobe et al.

Summary: This study investigated the formation of crosslinks in natural rubber compounds processed with different accelerators, and found that the choice of accelerator type influences the processing time and cross-linked density. The analytical techniques studied showed close values of cross-linked density for natural rubber compounds, indicating their applicability in determining crosslinked density.
