An enhanced recovery after surgery pathway in pediatric colorectal surgery improves patient outcomes

Summary: This study found that implementing an ERAS pathway in pediatric colorectal surgery can reduce opioid utilization and expedite the initiation of oral intake, leading to a reduction in length of stay. Compared to non-ERAS pathways, the ERAS cohort experienced significant reductions in total MME/kg, Foley duration, time to oral intake, and LOS, without an increase in complications.
