A new sulfonyl fluoride reagent (E)-2-methoxye-thene-1-sulfonyl fluoride (MeO-ESF) was developed and successfully applied for the construction of enaminyl sulfonyl fluoride (N-ESF). This protocol provides a highly atom-economical access to diverse N-ESF and produces CH3OH as the sole byproduct under mild and environmentally benign conditions.
