The atomic structure, magnetic properties and bending ductility of a novel Fe-P-C-B-Si amorphous alloy investigated by experiments and ab initio molecular dynamics

Lingjie Lu et al.

Summary: The atomic structure, soft magnetic property, and bending ductility of Fe-P-C-B-Si amorphous alloys were studied by changing the Si content. Addition of a small amount of Si effectively increased the Curie temperature and saturated magnetization. The annealed amorphous alloys showed further improvement in magnetization and good bending ductility. These findings suggest that Fe-P-C-B-Si amorphous alloys have the potential to replace Si-Fe alloys in magnetic and electric devices.

Tailoring metalloid elements in Fe-C-P-B amorphous/nanocrystalline alloys with high saturated magnetization and heat-treatable bending ductility

Zhiguang Shi et al.

Summary: By adjusting the concentration of metalloid elements, it was found that the addition of B is beneficial for glass formation with high Fe content, C addition can improve saturated magnetization, and P addition is beneficial for reducing coercivity. Additionally, optimal amorphous alloys maintain good bending ductility even after annealing treatment close to crystallization temperature.

Effect of primary α-Fe on soft magnetic properties of FeCuNbSiB amorphous/nanocrystalline alloy

Jili Ding et al.

Summary: The influence of primary alpha-Fe precipitation on thermal and magnetic properties was investigated by producing Fe76.5-xCu1NbxSi13.5B9 (x=0, 1, 2 and 3) amorphous/nanocrystalline ribbons through melt-spinning. It was found that rapid quenching and heat treatment had similar effects on alpha-Fe precipitation. By optimizing components and heat treatment, magnetic properties of the ribbons could be significantly improved.

Novel Fe-C-B-P-Cu nanocrystalline alloys with superb magnetic properties and processability

Yuluo Li et al.

Summary: This article presents a new type of Fe-C-B-P-Cu nanocrystalline alloy with high P content, showing excellent magnetic properties and processability. Increasing the phosphorus content can effectively lower the coercivity, resulting in better soft magnetic properties. The relationship between microstructure and soft magnetic properties of this alloy is discussed in detail based on crystallization and structural features.

Summary: The addition of Ta and Nb elements can effectively improve the soft-magnetic properties of Fe-Si-B-P-Cu alloys, making the heat treatment range of the alloy wider. Nb and Ta doping is most beneficial for stabilizing and refining the nanocrystalline structure of the alloy, which has a significant impact on the heat treatment conditions of the alloy.
