Efficacy and safety of perioperative vitamin C in patients undergoing noncardiac surgery: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomised trials

Manuel Suter et al.

Summary: Perioperative administration of vitamin C does not decrease the length of hospital stay after noncardiac surgery. The effects on postoperative complications and mortality are inconclusive. Vitamin C can reduce postoperative pain, but adverse events are rare and further research is needed.

Hydrogen Attenuates Endotoxin-Induced Lung Injury by Activating Thioredoxin 1 and Decreasing Tissue Factor Expression

Qian Li et al.

Summary: Hydrogen inhalation has been shown to be effective in treating inflammatory lung injury caused by endotoxemia by reducing TF expression and MMP-9 activity through activating Trx1. Targeting Trx1 by hydrogen may serve as a potential treatment for endotoxin-induced lung injury.
