Strain regulated interlayer coupling in WSe2/WS2 heterobilayer

Xiaodan Xu et al.

Summary: This study systematically investigates the strain engineering in WSe2/WS2 heterostructures, revealing that strain can significantly modulate the phonon energy and exciton emission of monolayer WSe2 and WS2, as well as the electronic band structure and interlayer coupling in WSe2/WS2 heterostructures. It is also found that the photoluminescence intensity ratio of WS2 to WSe2 increases monotonically with tensile strain.

Hemanga J. Sarmah et al.

Summary: The research findings demonstrate distinct changes in the spectral features, emission spectra, and electrical properties of WSe2 and WS2 nanoflakes exposed to energetic beta particles. Additionally, an increase in the photon lifetime and the formation of metal-semiconductor nanojunctions were observed post-irradiation.

Revealing the interrelation between C- and A-exciton dynamics in monolayer WS2 via transient absorption spectroscopy

Yuanzheng Li et al.

Summary: The study reveals that in monolayer WS2, band edge A-excitons can effectively generate high-energy C-excitons through a many-body process, and the relaxation of hot carriers from C-excitons to band edge states can compensate for and slow the decay of A-excitons. This comprehensive understanding of the interrelation between C-exciton and A-exciton dynamics in monolayer TMDs may lead to potential applications for future TMD-based light-harvesting devices.
