Through synthesis and study, it is found that the nature of metal ions plays a decisive role in the organization of coordination compounds and their photoluminescent properties. The synthesized coordination compounds may have potential as luminescent materials.
Three new 5-sulfosalicylato 3 d-metal coordination compounds [Cu-II(Bhz)(2)(H(2)SSal)(2)] ( 1 ), [Zn(Bhz)(2) (H(2)SSal)(2)] ( 2 ) and [Ni-II(Bhz)(3)]3(HSSal)(3) .7.5H(2)O.0.5(C2H5OH) ( 3 ) (where Bhz - benzohydrazide, H2SSal- and HSSal(2)- - 5-sulfosalicylate anions) have been synthesized and studied by elemental analysis, IR spec-troscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Luminescent spectra for 1 -3 were measured at room temper-ature. The results obtained show the nature of the metal ions as the deciding factor in the organization of the coordination compounds as well in their photoluminescence properties. The synthesized coordination compounds can be potential luminescent materials. (C) 2022 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
