High-performance symmetric supercapacitor based on new functionalized graphene oxide composites with pyrimidine nucleotide and nucleoside

Mohammad Dashti Najafi et al.

Summary: The delivery of CTP and Ara-C onto the surface of graphene oxide has resulted in the fabrication of functionalized graphene oxide composites with enhanced electrochemical performance. The FGO-CTP electrode demonstrated superior capacitance and energy density compared to the FGO-Ara-C electrode in a three-electrode system. The DFT calculations revealed that FGO-CTP had a higher charge distribution on the GO layer, making it more effective as an electrode material for supercapacitors.

Antibody assisted graphene oxide coated gold nanoparticles for rapid bacterial detection and near infrared light enhanced antibacterial activity

Shimayali Kaushal et al.

Summary: A hybrid antibody biosensor based on graphene oxide-coated gold nanoparticles was developed for fast, specific, and high sensitivity foodborne bacterial detection. The biosensor showed colorimetric and spectrophotometric changes up to 10(3) and 10(2) CFU, respectively, when incubated with Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhimurium for 5 minutes. Immobilized antibodies on the hybrid nanoparticle biosensor were specific to bacteria and exhibited specific photoablation of bacteria upon infrared exposure. This antibody-functionalized biosensor allowed for rapid optical detection and extermination of foodborne bacteria.
