Selective multiple analyte detection using multi-mode excitation of a MEMS resonator

Usman Yaqoob et al.

Summary: This work explores highly selective multiple analyte detection using a single MEMS device that exploits absorption and thermal conductivity mechanisms. By utilizing different vibration modes of a resonator, the device successfully detects relative humidity and helium gas selectively. This mode-dependent selective detection method is of great significance for the development of miniature, low-powered, and selective smart sensors.

Micromechanical mode-localized electric current sensor

Han Li et al.

Summary: This paper outlines the design of a novel mode-localized electric current sensor based on a mechanically sensitive element of weakly coupled resonator systems. The sensor converts the test current to voltage through a silicon shunt resistor, causing a stiffness perturbation to one resonator. The mode-localization phenomenon alters the energy distribution, and the sensor has a sensitivity of 567/A, a noise floor of 69.3 nA/root Hz, a resolution of 183.6 nA, and a bias instability of 81.6 nA.

A Method for Increasing the Bandwidth of Rogowski Coils Without Changing Their Size

Xiaoyu Liu et al.

Summary: This article proposes a method to increase the bandwidth of Rogowski coils without sacrificing size, sensitivity, anti-interference ability, and measurement accuracy. The method involves segmenting the coils and outputting the induced voltage through voltage followers, which are then joined together using an adder.

A 0.002-mm2 8-bit 1-MS/s low-power time-based DAC (T-DAC)

Ali H. Hassan et al.

Summary: The novel T-DAC architecture utilizes a DTC and TVC circuit to convert digital input code to analogue voltage, achieving not only energy efficiency but also area efficiency. The power optimization is achieved by controlling the supply voltage of the TVC circuit with a discontinuous waveform using a low bias current. The proposed T-DAC shows promising performance in post-layout simulations.
