Evaluation of Schiff-Base Covalent Organic Frameworks for CO2 Capture: Structure-Performance Relationships, Stability, and Performance under Wet Conditions

Yuxiang Wang et al.

Summary: This study evaluates a series of Schiff-base COFs with different functionalities, pore sizes, and framework dimensions for potential applications in postcombustion CO2 capture. It is found that COFs undergoing enol-to-keto transformations outperform other studied COFs, and CO2 uptake capacity of a COF is not necessarily a function of its pore aperture and specific surface area.ropicity.

NH2-MIL-125 filled mixed matrix membrane contactor with SO2 enrichment for flue gas desulphurization

Xu Li et al.

Summary: NH2-MIL-125-filled MMMC effectively enhances the transfer of gas molecules in the membrane pores, resulting in a significantly increased SO2 absorption flux under both light and non-light conditions. The membrane phase mass transfer coefficient is low, indicating low resistance in the membrane, and the SO2 absorption flux remains stable after 4 cycles of tests. The use of membrane contactor with functional fillers shows promising development prospects for enhancing SO2 capture ability and promoting SO2 enrichment.

Evaluation of Schiff-Base Covalent Organic Frameworks for CO2 Capture: Structure-Performance Relationships, Stability, and Performance under Wet Conditions

Yuxiang Wang et al.

Summary: Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are promising adsorbent materials for postcombustion CO2 capture due to their high porosity, tunable functionalities, and excellent framework stability. The study shows that keto-COFs outperform other imine COFs with similar pore sizes in terms of CO2 uptake, and the wet conditions have minimal impact on the CO2 capture performance of COFs.

Molybdenum Dioxide Nanoparticles Anchored on Nitrogen-Doped Carbon Nanotubes as Oxidative Desulfurization Catalysts: Role of Electron Transfer in Activity and Reusability

Juncong Zou et al.

Summary: The electron transfer between metal-oxides and supports greatly impacts the performance of catalysts in oxidative desulfurization (ODS), with molybdenum dioxide with oxygen vacancies (V-O-MoO2) catalysts anchored on electron-rich nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes (NC) showing excellent ODS activity and reusability. By promoting dispersion of V-O-MoO2 and reducing the bond energy of the Mo-O bond, the strong electron-donating effect of NC on V-O-MoO2 enhances exposure of active sites and enriches oxygen vacancies, leading to effective desulfurization.
