This study investigates the efficient light extraction performance of synthesized zinc oxide quantum dots (ZnO-QDs) incorporated with polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). The synthesized ZnO QDs are characterized using XRD, SEM, and UV-Vis spectroscopy, and their light extraction performance is examined on a glass surface coated with quantum dots above the light emitting diodes (LEDs). Experimental results are compared with simulated results for a better understanding, and the light extraction properties of the ZnO QDs are recommended for mass production and industrial application.
Extraction of efficient light from the light-emitting diodes (LEDs) is an important and crucial factor for the solid-state lighting technology. In the present work, the performance of light extraction of the synthesized zinc oxide quantum dots (ZnO-QDs) incorporated with polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) is studied in detail. The synthesized ZnO QDs are characterized using XRD, SEM, UV-Vis Spectroscopy and their light extraction performance is examined using quantum dots coated glass surface above the light emitting diodes (LEDs). The experimental results of the light extraction are also compared with the simulating results for more understanding. The light extraction properties of the ZnO QDs may be recommended for mass production and industrial application.
