CuO decorated MoS2 nanostructures grown on carbon fabric with enhanced power factor for wearable thermoelectric application

Suresh C. Prasanna et al.

Summary: Transition Metal Dichalcogenides (TMDs), especially molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), are highly preferred as a candidate for thermo-electric (TE) applications due to their low thermal conductivity. However, their low electrical conductivity hinders the thermoelectric performance. In this study, MoS2 was grown on carbon fabric (CF) and decorated with copper oxide (CuO) using hydrothermal and spray deposition methods. The results showed that the addition of CuO significantly improved the thermoelectric properties of MoS2.

Synergistic effect of grain boundaries and phonon engineering in Sb substituted Bi2Se3 nanostructures for thermoelectric applications

V. Vijay et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the decoupling of the Seebeck coefficient and thermal conductivity of antimony substituted bismuth selenide through Isovalent substitution. Transmission electron microscopy studies reveal a giant reduction in thermal conductivity due to multi-scale phonon scattering, primarily caused by a large number of effective dislocations. The ultra-low thermal conductivity achieved in this study highlights the potential of Isovalent substitution for enhancing the Seebeck coefficient and reducing the thermal conductivity of thermoelectric materials.

Electrochemical Synthesis of Hybrid Layered Thermoelectric Materials Based on PEDOT/SnS Doped with Ag

Jose F. Serrano-Claumarchirant et al.

Summary: The research focused on the production of a hybrid layered thermoelectric material by electrochemically depositing SnS on a PEDOT electrode to enhance thermoelectric properties. Optimizing the doping level of SnS by adding Ag significantly improved the power factor to 58.6 mu W m(-1) K-2, more than two orders of magnitude higher than undoped materials.
