A G-type lectin receptor-like kinase regulates the perception of oomycete apoplastic expansin-like proteins

Lei Pi et al.

Summary: The PcEXLX1 protein from Nicotiana benthamiana was found to activate plant immune responses and enhance resistance against Phytophthora capsici. The perception of PcEXLX1 was regulated by the receptor-like kinase ERK1.

Study of natural diversity in response to a key pathogenicity regulator of Ralstonia solanacearum reveals new susceptibility genes in Arabidopsis thaliana

Choghag Demirjian et al.

Summary: Our study revealed different genetic architectures in response to Ralstonia solanacearum hpaP mutant in two Arabidopsis thaliana mapping populations, with a delayed global response compared to wild-type strain. We identified several quantitative trait loci associated with the hpaP mutant inoculation, with genes involved in specific biological processes important for R. solanacearum virulence. Focusing on four candidate genes identified using a worldwide collection, we validated three of them as susceptibility factors.

Regulation of immune receptor kinase plasma membrane nanoscale organization by a plant peptide hormone and its receptors

Julien Gronnier et al.

Summary: Spatial partitioning is a tendency of biological systems to coordinate cell activities in space and time. The dynamic regulation of plasma membrane nano-environments plays a key role in plant signaling. The receptor kinase FERONIA (FER) and leucine-rich repeat (LRR) extensin proteins (LRXs) actively modulate plasma membrane nanoscale organization to regulate immune signaling.

Recognition of pathogen-derived sphingolipids in Arabidopsis

H. Kato et al.

Summary: In plants, invading microbial pathogens are recognized by cell-surface receptors, triggering defense responses. The pathogen-derived lipid molecules from the oomycete P. infestans can induce defense responses in Arabidopsis by interacting with specific enzymes and receptors.
