Summary: In this study, a simple interface modified strategy was used to self-assemble Au@Fe2O3 nanostructures on graphene substrate, and the physico-chemical properties and photo-induced charge transfer mechanism were systematically analyzed. The hybrid material showed altered light absorption capacity and band gap, enabling visible light-responsive photocatalysis, as well as superparamagnetic behavior and magnetic separation ability. The AFG catalyst exhibited excellent photocatalytic activity against various dyes under visible light.

Enhanced visible photocatalytic performance of un-doped TiO2 nanoparticles thin films through modifying the substrate surface roughness

Summary: This study successfully enhanced the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 nanoparticles by adjusting the substrate surface roughness and thermal treatment. The sample prepared on the roughest substrate showed the smallest nanoparticle size, the highest surface roughness, and hydrophilicity, as well as strong optical absorption. Under visible light illumination, this sample achieved efficient degradation of pollutants.

Summary: The use of antibiotics poses threats to the environment and humans. Photodegradation of antibiotics using nanocomposites has shown promising results. In this study, the efficiency of photodegradation using nanocomposites was investigated, and the best results were obtained with MIL-101Fe (NH2) @g-C3N4@CoFe2O4/GO. The optimized conditions for the photocatalyst were determined as initial antibiotic concentration of 20 ppm, pH = 5, photocatalyst dosage of 40 mg, and irradiation time of 65 min.

Template-free synthesis of Bi2O2CO3 hierarchical nanotubes self-assembled from ordered nanoplates for promising photocatalytic applications

The effects of reaction time on the morphology and performance of the nanotubes were investigated. Summary: A series of SnS2/Au nanocomposites with excellent photocatalytic properties were synthesized by photocatalytic deposition of Au nanoparticles on the surface of SnS2 nanoplates. The most active nanocomposite, SnS2/Au-1.0%, showed efficient and stable photocatalytic performance in the reduction of Cr(VI) and degradation of MO under visible light irradiation, attributed to its efficient separation and transfer of photo-generated electrons and holes. The mechanisms of photocatalytic Cr(VI) reduction and MO degradation by SnS2/Au-1.0% were also explored.

Preparation of small-sized BiVO4 particles with improved photocatalytic performance and its photocatalytic degradation of doxycycline in water
