Electrocatalytic decomplexation of Cu-EDTA and simultaneous recovery of Cu with Ni/GO-PAC particle electrode

Xinxin Hu et al.

Summary: In this study, a fixed bed of particle electrodes was used to successfully decomplex Cu-EDTA and simultaneously recover copper. The results showed that under acidic conditions, Cu-EDTA could be effectively decomplexed, while excessive Cu2+ or EDTA had negative impacts on the process.

Efficient removal of Cu-EDTA complexes from wastewater by combined electrooxidation and electrocoagulation process: Performance and mechanism study

Peipei Song et al.

Summary: In this study, a combined electrooxidation and electrocoagulation (EO-EC) reactor was used to treat Cu-EDTA wastewater, with parameters like current density, electrolyte, and NaCl concentration found to affect the treatment efficiency. Under specific conditions, high Cu-EDTA removal efficiency was achieved, possibly through the generation of various oxidation and mineralization products. Overall, the EO-EC process proved to be an effective method for treating Cu-EDTA contaminated wastewater.

Simultaneous removal of organics and heavy metals from industrial wastewater: A review

Timothy O. Ajiboye et al.

Summary: The co-existence of heavy metals and organics in industrial effluents poses potential health risks and ecological harm, necessitating the simultaneous removal of these pollutants. Technologies such as adsorption, ion exchange, photo-catalysis, and coagulation have been used for this purpose, with their success dependent on water matrices and treatment media. This review critically examines the advantages, limitations, and mathematical modeling of these technologies for concurrent removal of organics and heavy metals in contaminated systems.

Effective removal of the heavy metal-organic complex Cu-EDTA from water by catalytic persulfate oxidation: Performance and mechanisms

Qi Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, removal of the Cu-ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (Cu-EDTA) complex using autocatalytic persulfate (PS) oxidation was investigated, with a removal efficiency of 96.57% achieved after 90 min of treatment. Factors such as PS concentration, initial concentration of Cu-EDTA, and solution pH value were found to influence the removal performance. This study demonstrated the potential of multipathway activation of PS induced by heavy metal complexes for effective removal of heavy metal complexes.
