2D NMR-based MatchNat Dereplication Strategy Enables Explosive Discovery of Novel Diterpenoid Alkaloids†

Tian-Peng Yin et al.

Summary: In this study, a novel dereplication strategy based on pattern recognition of specific HMBC signals was established to efficiently discover natural DAs. The system utilized diagnostic signals in the HMBC spectra of C-19-DAs to indicate structural categories and rapidly identify known compounds and novel DAs. This dereplication system has the potential for application in other classes of natural products and shows promising use as a complementary tool in the NMR analysis of traditional Chinese medicines.

Development of an NMR-Based Platform for the Direct Structural Annotation of Complex Natural Products Mixtures

Joseph M. Egan et al.

Summary: The development of new omics platforms has significantly impacted natural products discovery, but there is currently no straightforward method for characterizing the chemical landscape of natural products libraries using 2D-NMR experiments. The MADByTE platform, employing a combination of TOCSY and HSQC spectra to create chemical similarity networks, offers a more efficient way to analyze complex mixtures.
