A novel method based on infrared spectroscopic inception-resnet networks for the detection of the major fish allergen parvalbumin

Xiaopeng Zhang et al.

Summary: A novel approach using IRN modeling based on IR spectroscopy was developed for rapid and specific detection of the fish allergen parvalbumin. The IRN model achieved high accuracy in recognizing parvalbumin in seafood matrices and could be applied for large-scale screening and identification of potential allergens in complex food matrices.

Evolution of the Parvalbumin Genes in Teleost Fishes after the Whole-Genome Duplication

Subham Mukherjee et al.

Summary: This study reports the molecular evolution of parvalbumin genes in bony fishes, revealing unexpectedly high diversity in teleosts and a result of teleost-specific whole-genome duplication. Three main gene types originated at the onset of vertebrates, leading to nine ancestral copies in teleosts. The gene diversity is reflected in the expression patterns in different tissues of the common carp.
