Identification of novel COX-2/CYP19A1 axis involved in the mesothelioma pathogenesis opens new therapeutic opportunities

Barbara Nuvoli et al.

Summary: This study revealed a novel COX-2/CYP19A1 axis in the pathogenesis of MPM that can be pharmacologically targeted, with synergistic effects observed in the combination of rofecoxib and exemestane inhibitors in MPM cell proliferation, and pAKT identified as an actionable mediator in the COX-2-CYP19A1 axis.
