Rutin ameliorates inflammation and improves metabolic function: A comprehensive analysis of scientific literature

Ndivhuwo Muvhulawa et al.

Summary: Chronic inflammation is a significant complication in the development and worsening of metabolic diseases. Medicinal plants or food-derived bioactive compounds may be used for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties to improve metabolic function. Rutin, a flavonol derivative, has shown therapeutic benefits against various metabolic diseases. Preclinical evidence suggests that rutin can reduce inflammation through its antioxidant properties, leading to improved metabolic function. Although clinical data is limited, food sources rich in rutin have shown promise in improving metabolic function by reducing markers of oxidative stress and inflammation.

OPLS4: Improving Force Field Accuracy on Challenging Regimes of Chemical Space

Chao Lu et al.

Summary: The development and validation of the OPLS4 force field, which builds upon previous work with OPLS3e, improved model accuracy on challenging regimes of drug-like chemical space. A novel parametrization strategy for charged species was introduced, leading to improved accuracy on benchmarks assessing small-molecule solvation and protein-ligand binding.

Evaluation of therapeutic effect of Premna herbacea in diabetic rat and isoverbascoside against insulin resistance in L6 muscle cells through bioenergetics and stimulation of JNK and AKT/mTOR signaling cascade

Bhaswati Kashyap et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the therapeutic potential of methanolic extract of Premna herbacea against type 2 diabetes mellitus and identified Isoverbascoside as the major bioactive phytochemical in the plant. Isoverbascoside was found to improve insulin resistance, enhance glucose uptake, and inhibit ROS production, highlighting its potential as an effective anti-hyperglycemic agent.
